Electric Blinds in Selly Oak

Electric blinds are often sold as gadgets, but in Selly Oak homes they usually solve a reach problem. A tall landing window above the stairs, a long run of glass in a back extension, a blind tucked behind a sofa that nobody can get to: a quiet motor makes each of these easy. The blind rises and falls from a handheld remote, a wall switch or, on suitable systems, an app.

Motorised blind at a large window – Selly Oak Blinds

Where electric blinds work in Selly Oak homes

Plenty of B29 houses have grown backwards with kitchen extensions full of glazed doors and roof lights. Grouping several blinds on one channel lets the whole room close at once on a winter evening. Battery motors avoid any rewiring, which matters in older terraces, while mains motors suit larger or heavier blinds. Rollers, Romans, day and night and vertical styles can all be motorised, so the choice of look stays open.

Motorised blinds are priced after a free measure, since the motor, power and blind type all affect cost. If you book online and are not using a fixed-price bundle, BN-14 takes 14% off. There are no chains or cords at the window afterwards, which is handy around children. The fitter can show you the remote and motor options at your visit, so you know exactly what you are choosing.

A few questions help us choose the right system. Is there a socket near the window? Would you rather recharge a battery every so often or never think about it? Do you want the blinds to rise and fall on a timer? Once we know, the fitter can recommend a motor, explain how charging works if you go cordless, and set the remote so each blind, or each group, responds to the right button. Manual override and battery life vary by system, and we explain both before you choose.

What it costs

All fitted bundle offers: Each blind up to 1 metre wide × 1 metre drop. Ask about the included fabrics and finishes at your free measure. Cannot be used with any other offers, including BN-14. Terms & conditions apply.

Questions we hear at the measure

Will you need to rewire part of the house?

Not with a battery motor, which recharges and needs no cables. Mains motors on larger blinds may need a socket or spur close by, and we will tell you at the measure.

Can I control them from my phone?

Some systems offer app and smart-home control. Ask the fitter during the visit and they can show you which motors support it.

How are electric blinds priced?

After the free measure, because the motor, the blind type and its size all change the cost. BN-14 applies to online bookings without another offer.
